HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROY LICHTENSTEIN!

I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1995 at Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles. He was a very sweet and frail man. I almost didn't notice him because he didn't command a lot of attention. (It was a small opening for Robert Rauschenberg - Dennis Hopper, David Byrne and a few other celebs were there as well.)
I asked him if he would sign a card for me. He happily obliged and carefully wrote out his long name. Then he looked at it for a moment and said oh, let me do that over and got another card and wrote out his name again. He liked this version better. He gave me both. (They looked identical.)
